Playa Tamarindo is a long golden arc that stretches along the Pacific with verdant green mountains in the background. The main draw here as you may have guessed is the beach. It is a 15-minute drive to the private schools of La Paz and the Costa Rica International Academy (âCRIAâ), and is a 45-minute drive from the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica.Located in Costa Rica’s northwestern province of Guanacaste, Tamarindo is a bustling tourist town that lures surfers and sunbathers alike. Las Catalinas is only a 10-minute drive to the new Flamingo Marina, which is now accepting boats into its harbor.  Las Catalinas regularly features events, including triathlons, movie nights, and festivals. The principal bedroom is extremely private, located on its own floor, and has a large private balcony overlooking the town. Moreover, the composition of the bedrooms in this home makes it very versatile. You will see similar tributes to peoples and cultures of Central America, including the Mayan culture, throughout this home.All five bedrooms have en-suite baths. For example, the backsplash and stairs consists of handmade Honduran tiles made by the Lenca peoples (some of the first people known to inhabit Honduras before colonial times), a large dining table for eight complimented by a lighting feature made from an original yolk  created by a Chorotegan  artisan, vaulted ceilings made of Costa Rican hardwood, and an oversized island with a 6-person breakfast bar adorned with clay lamps that give homage to Navajo Native American art. ![]()  The kitchen/living/dining areas have an open concept where you can comfortably entertain and pay tribute to the homeâs authentic fixtures that double as works of art. This courtyard is the heart of the home, and there are large pocket  doors that open seamlessly to the living and kitchen area, bringing the outdoors in.
